Maya Rucker was an undeniable force in the Northeast Ohio Real estate market. As the president & sole founder of "Women Who Invest RE" (WWIRE), she believed that empowering women through real estate investment was everything. It was truly her passion to give women a voice at the real estate investment table.

Growing up, she was a fierce competitor in various sports. From soccer to tennis, she later became a dominant force for the Lady Tigers of Twinsburg, Ohio, in high school. As part of the "Big 6," which included Tracy, Mimi, Kristy, Sam, and Beth, she helped the team achieve the status of state champion runner-up. Notably, she set a state record in one game with 17 blocked shots. The 1990s had never seen a greater women's basketball team assembled.

Maya's beginnings were very humble in East Cleveland. Her mother, Patricia, always instilled a "fighter" mentality in her. As a first-generation Irish immigrant, Maya fought fiercely for the underserved and often overlooked. Like her grandmother, Monica Foley, she would sit down with anyone for a cup of Irish tea. Maya listened intently and offered candid feedback without judgment, showing a genuine sense of love and compassion that the world often overlooks. This skill would later prove essential to her remarkable success in business.

Conversely, she took immense pride in her roots from Shelbyville, Kentucky, where her biological father was raised on land that originally belonged to the slave owners he and his family worked for. This stark reminder of history fueled her strong determination to serve those who have been forgotten by the system.

Although she is no longer with us physically, her legacy endures through your work. Her involvement with Women Who Invest and her role as an early investor in Equity Capital Mortgage Group Inc. made a significant impact. WWIRE continues in her name, empowering women. She provided support to her brother during many difficult times, and her legacy will live on as the "CEO in Spirit" for eternity.
